The War Within Season 1

Arachnophobia Mode ON -- it's time to don our most stylish spider-stomping boots for the launch of The War Within.

Blizzard has been great about laying out the timing of their upcoming releases lately, so it's not surprising that, ahead of World of Warcraft's launch of The War Within expansion, we already have a start date for season 1: September 10, though, as this is a global release, for certain time zones, this will be September 11.

It will probably not surprise World of Warcraft players to learn that The War Within will once again feature a new entry in the series of Catalysts -- the machines left behind by cosmic forces that allow us to convert appropriate gear into tier sets, making obtaining them (whether for actual power gains during the season they're relevant, or for transmog after the fact).

The War Within is bringing some changes to The Great Vault, making it a bit easier to earn a weekly piece of high-level gear.

The World of Warcraft: The War Within will give us a new Season and a new raid to explore -- Nerub-ar Palace.

World of Warcraft: The War Within gets the typical batch of new dungeons, but not too much will be changing in dungeons themselves — we're doing the same old thing, just in new places.

Delves are a new instance activity introduced as a core aspect in World of Warcraft: The War Within.
