Leveling professions in The War Within, can be an expensive, tedious process — even more so than in Dragonflight — so we're happy to report that the Darkmoon Faire is in town to award you with easy profession points.

Every expansion in World of Warcraft brings with it tasty new Cooking recipes, from recipes so good they became actual real-life recipes to the nearly-inedible foods of Shadowlands (I guess Brokers didn't know that most of us don't like Pickled Meat Smoothies and Butterscotch Marinated Ribs). The War Within also includes a large variety of new foods (including food that lasts through death!), many of which have a fun twist on the fact that you're spending a lot of time in cave systems.

Dragonflight implemented a major rework of professions for players, adding quality tiers to materials and crafted goods, profession knowledge trees, and crafting orders.

In recent builds of The War Within alpha, Cooking changes have finally started filtering into people's profession windows.

Dragonflight made professions much more interesting — but also much harder to level.

Do you try and collect every recipe for your professions?

I'm of two minds about the current profession system in Dragonflight.

If there's anything I can say I absolutely hope for in Dragonflight, it's that the design decision to not do a borrowed power system and the changes to professions both work out.

Professions in Dragonflight are seeing a lot of changes -- Blizzard already released a two-part post about them, and more are sure to come.

The biggest issue with professions in WoW will finally be solved in Dragonflight with the introduction of profession equipment, which will help characters look the part, as well as provide actual bonuses to the professions.
